The ongoing "Chance Meeting Series" and Chance Meeting #2:
My original concept of a grand reunion (that I originally perceived) has
had been tested. Many other takeaway's have been derived since the
first, both by myself and art patrons. One of the many varying
representations I am getting on these works (as discussed prior) is of a
growing "disassociation" among people within the world. I have written
on this topic in prior newsletters, - but here is a quick review for
those unfamiliar:
"These paintings can also be revealed as two non-communicating figures
in close proximity to each other. The figures are standing right next to
each other but NOT really interacting. Seen on this level, these
paintings can speak on the worlds apparent growing level of
interpersonal separation. Directly or indirectly, this analogy is
relating then to our new and modern world of what we now call
friendships. Those being the frenzy of new friendships driven through
social media. Many cultural and sociological professionals believe this
to be the creation of a new "false closeness" and with it an apparent
loss of true and real tangible friendships."
So, interestingly, - the perceived delivery of these paintings varies
greatly from viewer to viewer. In all honesty, I love this as this is my
goal. My greatest joy and desire for creation in art comes from
building "High" or "Thinking" art.
